Field of Teaching: »Industrial Design«
“Technical Industrial Design” views design as a research-based, systematic development process. The program teaches technical development and presentation methods, design theory, and knowledge of materials and manufacturing—ranging from artisanal and industrial techniques to new digital processes. Prototyping serves as an essential, systematic, and iterative research tool for gaining insights and using them as a basis for design. To develop holistically sustainable products, a central focus is placed on combining technical design with ecological sustainability. The goal is to train designers who act responsibly and give equal consideration to technical, ecological, and societal developments.
