Internship
The 18-week internship is usually performed during the fifth semester of the bachelor’s degree programmes. The company-based internship prepares students to work in their particular area of study after graduation. The internship enables students to apply and evaluate the knowledge and skills they have learned during the degree programme. It introduces students to the world of design where they will work in the future by enabling them to do practical work under real-world conditions at a design agency or a company that does business in where the student intends to work. In addition to being integrated into design processes, students will ideally gain insights into the organisation of a company and related areas like contract acquisition, product planning, product development, production and marketing.
The department encourages and supports international internships. The recognition requirement for a internship is a internship contract. A set of guidelines summarises the key information about the practice-based semester.
