Field of Teaching: »Generative Design and Creative AI«
In generative design, designers do not create a single, final artifact, but rather a system capable of generating a potentially infinite number of variations. Through programming and the use of algorithms drawn from biology, physics, and mathematics, novel and often interactive results are produced. The “Generative Design and Creative AI” course focuses on the concrete manifestations of generative design, such as data visualizations and creative coding, which enable students to develop a more flexible approach to using the computer as a medium. Novel language and image models of artificial intelligence thus become a flexible part of the toolkit—going beyond simple prompts.
