Field of Teaching: »Photography and Staging«
Staging ranges from documentary-style narratives to the construction of complex visual worlds—in both artistic and applied contexts. Through deliberate staging and conceptual storytelling, students in the “Photography and Staging” course develop their own visual languages to effectively articulate aesthetic, communicative, or social messages. Staging is understood here as a cross-disciplinary method that can be extended to moving images, CGI, or AI-based image processes—a critical reflection on the social impact of (post-)photographic images goes without saying. The goal is to cultivate visual competence that combines creative skill with analytical and ethical awareness, and to understand visual design as a contribution to cultural and social imagination.
