BA Design – Core Field Photo Design.

The job of photo designer is constantly changing – particularly as a result of the expansion of digitalisation/AI and the related shift in meaning of images. The Department of Design reflects and supports these developments. It continuously adapts the content of its courses in the process.

Photo designers can work in such classic fields of photography as portraits, architecture or fashion as well as in such areas as new media, film, creative agencies and academia. The job specifications have shifted from a technical-craftsmanship focus to a much broader array of areas in which artistic and visual-studies perspectives like content-focused, sociological and theoretical reflection play a role in addition to camera and study techniques, photo editing and moving pictures.
