BA Design – Core Field Communication Design.
Communication designers develop cross-media concepts and expressive forms that convey (complex) content and coherently and emotionally share information. In light of the whirlwind changes occurring in communication networks and the glut of media offerings found today, they must continuously reflect and structure the opportunities of visual communications. To perform their work, they need something more than visual sensitivity and a broad range of specific subject-matter knowledge that encompasses all graphic-related processes, techniques as well as analogue and digital media. They also require a high degree of artistic creativity and an understanding of their social responsibility.
Communication designers can work in an extremely wide range of areas – from editorial design, information design, branding, corporate design and typography to illustration, signage, digital media, animation, photography, advertising, text and exhibitions.
